Belize 2015 National ITT Complete

on

Yesterday, June 26, 2015, amid the early morning wind and rain the Cycling Federation of Belize held its 16th Annual Individual Time Trial Championships on the Burrell Boom Circuit. The abbreviated field has become commonplace for this event and the weather was definitely not going to make things better.

Nonetheless, Giovanni Lovell of DigiCell 4G Elite Cycling Team won the 2015 National ITT with a record setting time of 00:43:21. His time shaved 00:00:49 off the record previously set by Nissan Arana in 2013. Lovell’s teammate, Joel Borland, took Silver finishing one second back. Byron Pope (Benny’s Megabytes), one year removed from a career threatening crash at the 2014 edition of this event, finished third with a time of 00:44:22.

In the Women’s Elite category Alicia Thompson (Belize Bank/Swoosh) continued her decorated year by topping her only other competitor, Kaya Cattouse (C-Ray Female Cycling), by 00:02:32 after finishing with a time of 00:32:35.

Liam Stewart (Western Spirit Cycling Team) successfully defended his Masters ITT title while Raymond Cattouse (C-Ray Cycling Team) took silver and Stephen Bissett (CDS Cycling Team) took bronze.

Anthony Marin (Cabral/Marin Cycling Team) took home the gold in the Junior Males Category, while Patrick Williams (SMART Zoom junior Cycling Team) repeated as the Youth Champ.

Below is a list of top finishers on the day;
